One of my favourite writers on here
posed the question again. And in true Rick fashion, I answered it. Full rant mode. Thumbnail, description, the lot.But before I get into it, let’s be honest—this isn’t just their question. It’s one I’ve been asking people for years.
And funny thing is—no one ever really answers it.
So I’ll start with this. I used to be a fan of Blairism. Of liberalism. I genuinely thought they were on to something.
I respected what Blair did for us in Northern Ireland. I respected the child poverty stuff. And yeah, I liked Sure Start—even though it didn’t really work as intended because he underfunded it like everything else.
But put all that aside…
What he did to the NHS—that was unforgivable.
He didn’t gut dentistry and elective surgery outright—no, that came later, under the Tories. But Blair set the path. He opened the door to privatisation. Built the foundation. liberalised the business model to include American Systems.
Then the Tories walked off the cliff.
They gutted NHS and the services it provided.
The whole system collapsed into a two-tier mess where NHS dentists are now rarer than hens' teeth. Need the nurse to do an ear rinse, £70 in a private clinic, things you got done for free.
And it wasn’t just dentistry and hearing. Elective surgeries, the kind that help people live with dignity, reduce mental distress, prevent long term harm, back pain, knee pain, all those are now rationed or sold off.
And Streeting, your darling working class liberal, has a story for the NHS, like they all do.
Offensive that is. Using a personal story for the NHS as he looks pan faced into a BBC or Sky News camera—all while he has expanded this system.
He's even sold parts of the NHS to Private Equity! The worst type of capital! That doublespeak and using a personal story to sell your former class out, a traitor.
The worst kind of Liberal, at least you know where a working class conservative voter stands. You might not understand why, only they have to explain to their kids why they are poor and the immigrants they blamed are not getting wealthier. Driving a facelifted monthly payment Land Rover with some bling isn't wealth. So if you see that, don't get that confused with the Billionaire who just made more in a minute of your day than the average person did all year.
So yeah, I ended up giving my former self a good kicking. Because I believed in something that was never built for people like me. Not really.
Look.
If you earn less than £100k a year and still vote Conservative.
After 14 years of this shitshow—I don’t know what to tell you.
I get the idea of conserving culture and community. I grew up through Thatcherism and Blairism. And do you know what we lost under the last 14 years of conservative thinking?
Parks
Community centres
Pubs
Leisure centres
Local hospitals
GP services
Dentists
Mental health support
And the NHS services that actually fixed people
We lost quality-paying jobs.
We turned the fossil fuel industry into a welfare queen.
And so so so much more.
We got an energy sector that’s greenwashed, subsidised, and price-gouging. If not for carbon credits the energy sector would be causing hyper inflation. That's their record profits—Which ‘Blairism on steroids’ is protecting.
So if you’re voting for that?
I’m sorry.
But I really believe you’re on the wrong side of history, just like history proved before when capitalism put us in this position before.
To paraphrase Mark Twain, history doesn't repeat it often rhymes.
A vote for conservative parties is a vote that is actively hurting yourself.
And if it doesn’t hurt you yet, it’ll hurt your kids and grandkids.
That’s what happens when you vote for Conservatives, you lose your community, sense of culture and belonging, they don't want to conserve your culture or your community they want to conserve their Capital. And your community costs money that could be used for a Tax Cut instead. That's how their system works.
Now liberals…
Too many of you in the “centre ground,” the so-called soft left, don’t get it.
And if you do get it and still defend this system?
You will have to explain to your grand kids why you continued to support failure and capital—ism.
Or is it because you've done ok under this system and;
You own housing.
You’re on the corporate grease pole.
You think you’re playing the game smart.
But who the fuck are you hustling for?
Because what you are really doing is selling out your own future and pretending it’s progressive.
You’re voting for a version of economics that has proven overtime—does not work.
The Lib Dems? They’re pure triangulation—a desperate little bridge between:
Corporate donors
The bosses
Capital
US dominance
And definitely not you
They shafted students for a 5p bag tax for Christ's sake.
Biden? Same playbook.
He did an Obama-style halfway house on student debt. Could’ve fixed it. Didn’t.
Because liberals tied the party down—again.
Why? Their donors who come from the world of Capital—ism make it so. I mean why the need for so much money in politics. Ideas are free you know.
Now Labour’s liberals are doing it too. Because they are the lawyers, lobbyists, and PR pricks who prop this shitty system up.
Some of them work for corporations (lobbyists) or as an MP (indirectly via the lobbyists & donors to make it vaguely legal).
Some work for foreign regimes, look at the state of foreign influence on UK domestic and foreign policy. We are not in control!
And all of them pretend we can “fix” capitalism without touching the causes—theft from the future, sticky plasters for the present. Nothing has a plan past 5 years. And all advised by BlackRock. Who gave us these
PFI.
Privatisation.
Asset management.
Special Economic Zones
Freeports
Crony Monopoly Capitalism
It has crippled this country. Just like how Neoliberalism crippled Chile. Fascist dictator. Same outcomes. Just because we have elections between Labour, Lib Dems, Reform and Conservatives. Don't be naive enough to think that capital that flows from one party to the next via different mechanisms, is a democratic choice. That's an illusion of democracy. Learned from a project, started by liberals I might add, in 1948.
And they lied to a lot of working-class people who just wanted a fair deal. Who like me thought this third way was possible. But if you sit down and just look at the data.
And be honest:
If Starmer had told the truth about what he’d do? You’d never have voted for him.
So he didn’t tell the truth.
His entire career, he has been accused of using the power of his office to enforce his will, not a nice boss—but he was only following orders is the defence, as they are always handed down from people above him.
He doesn’t know how to say no to anyone he sees as above him. Like Trump or the business CEOs, as he dreams of a Clegg style handshake for a Blackrock policy well done.
And that’s how you get captured politicians.
That’s how you get lobbyists running the show.
That’s how you get Blair 2.0, all powered by the same donors and the same third-way bullshit.
Starmer wouldn’t even be leader if it weren’t for some very dirty money.
Reform. Lib Dems. Labour. Tories.
They all serve the same system: Capital—ism
And that system has delivered:
Fascism—twice in 100 years
Mass inequality
Mass poverty
Social breakdown
Failure of government services
A world barrelling towards war—this time led not by Christian fascists, but Zionist ones.
And why?
Because liberals never know who the fuck they really are.
They think they’re the brakes. The grown-ups in the room.
But really? They’re just well-dressed professionals lying to protect a system that’s burning the world for profit.
Third Way Liberals.
You couldn’t tame Mussolini. Liberal Elites thought they could control him. They didn't.
He was too smart.
Liberals couldn’t contain Hitler either after inviting him to take power along with conservatives.
Same reason.
And now?
Liberal elites are embarrassing themselves for another fascist wannabe in Trump. A man the media claims is playing 4D chess and former advisors say is eating the chess pieces.
A man who's ICE agency is raiding churches and schools. Doing the work of the SS or Stasi. Direct parallels, the sort of information Starmer knows via the intelligence services and understands as a former human rights lawyer, but choses to willfully ignore.
They’re serving the foreign policy interests of a man whose party was founded by fascist terrorists—backed by the UK and US from the start, built on stolen land, armed to the teeth, led by men who openly modelled themselves on Mussolini.
A democracy of fascists—the first of its kind.
Now high on ultra-nationalism and expansion.
And what do you get? A repeat of 1930a history rhyming in twenty—twenty—fucking—five. Wow. Just wow.
And liberals—all of them—made that happen.
For 30 years, liberals and conservatives have been reading their foreign policy from a fascist blueprint.
A state built on apartheid, supremacism, and war.
And now they cheer it on—as it commits genocide in broad daylight, right in front of your eyes.
While they beg you to vote “sensibly.” To put grown ups in charge. Just like labour in 1925. Paving patches that all lead to fascism again.
So to answer that question, bosses exploit the system because liberal and conservatives who get a wage for a living vote for it. People who work to themselves? What are you voting for? Corporations are rich because of people like us, we also vote against our best interests.
We produce the wealth.
Not the rich.
Not BlackRock.
Not debt.
Not fossil fuels.
Not CEOs.
It's All of Us.
Voting for any of the main parties will 100% mean bosses will still get subsidised.
Corporate welfare dwarfs actual welfare.
Public money gets turned into private equity.
And the people doing the work get left with debt, depression, anger and collapse.
This is what happens when kleptocracies fall.
And when they fall, history says: war follows.
People are the economy.
What we spend, how we live, how we work—just as social democracy built this country with 250% debt-to-GDP ratio after WWII. We can definitely rebuild this country with 60% less debts, and we don't need a war to make this happen.
But we’re told, again and again, that the people who own everything but build nothing like landlords, hedge funds, asset managers, CEOs, corporations, they deserve even more from this record breaking economy with record profits producing record levels of poverty and charity.
And we keep bailing out the casino.
Because that’s what this is: A capitalist casino.
When the banker wins, the state gets nothing.
When he loses, tax payers go into debt to cover it.
He pressures CEOs for returns.
Causes inflation.
Refinances all their debt.
Lobbies for government contracts, tax cuts, more share buybacks.
Or the one they all love a bailouts via quantitative easing aka free money.
And that happens under liberals just as much as it does under conservatives. These are stated facts not even up for debate anymore. You have smart phones, the internet, and the ability to read.
Until liberals understand their role…
Bosses will keep exploiting the system.
The wealth will keep flowing up.
And the rest of us?
Someone, somewhere, will always have to eat grass—so a CEO doesn’t miss his bonus.
Doesn’t matter if it’s liberal capitalism, free-market capitalism, neoliberalism, or fascism.
Someone always eats grass.
So what’s the solution?
